Instrument Repair Prices -
Owning a business comes with numerous benefits, and having hundreds of loyal customers ranks at the top. We take pleasure in welcoming new clients and often get to know their entire families. These connections have been incredibly beneficial for us on a psychological level. Additionally, we appreciate engaging with our self-employed customers. Many of them operate insurance agencies, accounting firms, auto repair shops, financial planning services — the list is extensive regarding how many self-employed customers we associate with regularly. These clients understand that making difficult business choices that impact customers isn't one of the perks tied to owning a business.
In the last year and a half to two years, we've witnessed a significant surge in instrument repair supply costs—doubling or even tripling in some instances. Woodwind instruments (including saxophones, flutes, piccolos, oboes, and clarinets) have experienced some of the most substantial price hikes; nearly all types of pads have seen their prices triple. We've also faced similar increases for glue used to attach pads as well as cork utilized on saxophone necks and between joints on clarinets and oboes; additionally for bumper materials designed to reduce key action noise. Over the years we’ve experimented with various synthetic materials as substitutes for natural cork but most haven't matched its ability for quiet key sound or ease of sanding necessary for customized saxophone mouthpieces.
Effective December 7th, 2024, we will be adjusting our repair fees due to these supply cost escalations.
As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions concerning instrument repairs, pricing details or available instruments for sale.
